Dans une boîte de nuit de la ville, une jeune fille de 16 ans, que nous appellerons X pour préserver son anonymat, a partagé son vécu ce samedi dernier :
« Je ne fais pas ce métier par choix, mais parce que la situation m’y oblige. Mon père est décédé dans le conflit et ma mère est handicapée. J’ai deux petits frères, et je dois subvenir à leurs besoins. C’est très difficile, mais je n’ai pas d’alternative. »
X confie qu’elle accepte des propositions allant de 5 à 10 dollars, ou même moins, selon les moyens des clients :
« J’arrive ici vers 19h. Parfois, je pars avec quelqu’un pour 10 000 à 20 000 francs congolais pour toute la nuit. Ce n’est pas un choix, c’est une nécessité. Il n’y a pas de circulation d’argent dans la ville. »
Elle affirme se protéger à chaque rapport, espérant que la paix revienne et qu’elle puisse trouver un travail digne.

Le docteur Euphrosine Ishimwe partage ses inquiétudes :
« Beaucoup de jeunes filles souffrent d’infections sexuellement transmissibles. Les moyens de protection ne sont pas toujours efficaces. En tant que femme et mère, je suis bouleversée par cette réalité. Nos enfants méritent mieux. »
Appel aux autorités
Maître Marcellin Mushoko, défenseur des droits humains, lance un appel pressant :
« Ce phénomène est la conséquence directe de la crise économique qui sévit dans la ville. La paix est indispensable pour offrir un avenir meilleur à ces jeunes filles. Elles doivent être orientées vers des centres de réinsertion afin de leur redonner espoir. »
Notre enquête révèle que certains parents, en grande détresse, envoient leurs enfants dans ces milieux nocturnes dans l’espoir d’un profit financier.
